DomeLease Program Overview
DomeLease LLC was formed with the objective of providing quality observatory
packages, (around the HomeDome and ProDome products from Technical Innovations), to
customers either unable to make an outright purchase at the current time or wishing
to preserve available cash. Our goal is to establish strong ongoing relationships with
our friends in the astronomy community and to provide a simple, straightforward
finance tool as a new option in observatory ownership. Please call us at

Basic Features
- Lease Packages: A complete line of observatory
configurations have been designed to meet nearly all astronomer needs
- Application: An Application for Lease will be
required of all applicants to the program
- Credit Approval: All applicants will be
subject to a credit investigation
- Agreement: A formal, signed Lease Agreement
dictate and establish all terms and conditions
- Payment: Timely payments on a monthly basis
with convenient credit card debiting available. Early payout options
available
- Legal: All transactions abide by the laws of
the State of Maryland and all actions must take place within the State of
Maryland
Lease Package Philosophy
- Dome Sizes: The complete Technical Innovations
line of observatory dome sizes will be available in this program
- Basic Manual Observatory: Domes operated
manually while astronomer is inside the observatory. A "no frills" start-up
option
- Motorized Observatory: Observatories including
electric drive systems for rotation and opening/closing the shutter
- Fully Automated Observatory: Complete and
ready for remote and/or unattended control, includes weather and sky
monitoring
- Pre-assembly: All packages offered will
include full factory pre-assembly and our complete "working observatory" test
program
- Crating and Shipping: Expenses related to
crating and shipping the observatory package are separate and prepaid by
customer
- Warranty: A special warranty, extended to one
full year, will be in effect. Some restrictions and conditions exist
- Support: The same Technical Innovations
customer support provided current dome buyers is available to domes leased
through DomeLease
- Philosophy: DomeLease is committed to
providing ALL astronomers with the most comfortable and enjoyable viewing or
imaging experience possible!
Individual Customers
- Permits and Zoning: Customer is responsible
for obtaining all approvals and permits
- Site Preparation: Each customer will be
responsible for the preparation of the proper foundation or mounting surface
- Dome Construction: All domes will be shipped
with our full preassembly option included. It is the responsibility of the
buyer to properly complete final construction and installation at their
site.
- Maintenance: Even though a special extended
warrantee is included in the lease, buyer will be responsible for routine
maintenance and assure only normal wear and tear occurs.
Schools and Institutions
- Grants: DomeLease will provide support as
needed in the filing of grant requests and applications
- Donations: We will work with individuals
wishing to acquire a dome to donate to a school or institution
- Multiple school "Dome Sharing": DomeLease has
experience with setting up dome sharing programs between schools and can
provide ideas and support
Basic Terms
- 36 month lease with $1 buyout
- Deposit of last 3 months payments, plus crating and shipping charges
paid at start of lease
- Buyout at any point in lease with no penalty
- Monthly payments charged to credit card on file on first business day of
the month
- All transactions under Maryland state laws, all actions must take place
in the State of Maryland
